Bio

Liane Spicer is a pen name of Trinidadian writer Charmaine Rousseau, an author, editor, reviewer and former high school English teacher. She was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2014, longlisted for the Commonwealth Writers Small Islands anthology in 2016, and longlisted for the Brooklyn Caribbean Literary Festival Award (BCLF Elizabeth Nunez Awards) in 2022. Her short stories have been published in The Caribbean Writer and St. Somewhere Literary Journal.

Café Au Lait, her first novel, was followed by Give Me the Night. Ms. Rousseau has also published short stories and novellas in several genres under a variety of pen names. A memoir and a mystery novel are in the works.

Her book reviews have appeared in print and online newspapers in the Caribbean and North America, including the Nassau Guardian, South Florida Caribbean News, and the Trinidad Guardian. She has also been featured in the Miami Herald newspaper and the Miami Herald book blog.
