March hunk: Jimmy Jean-Louis

Born in Haiti 40 years ago, he lived in a remote village until, at the age of 12, he moved to Paris. "From a young boy growing up in Haiti, living with no electricity or running water, my journey to Hollywood has been rich with experience. I take little for granted and appreciate the beauty of life, knowing that there is so much more to learn." Jean-Louis is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Creole. He has strutted the catwalks of London, Paris, Milan, South Africa and New York. As an actor, he's worked alongside some of the top names in the business in productions such as Diary of a Tired Black Man, Tears of the Sun, Derailed, Hollywood Homicide, Monster-in-Law, and Phat Girlz. And there's more, much more.

A week ago I didn't know he existed - then I stumbled across a photo that stopped me in my tracks. What do I like best about him? I think it's those lit-from-within eyes. Some dudes, it seems, just have it all.

Should I just link to my comments the last time you flashed a hunk?

From the looks of this guy, there's going to be at least three, maybe four, days of women going "oh YEAH" before you get around to posting another one of your cool pieces on your homeland or a book review or insights on writing.

I'll check back Monday.

LOL to Kevin.

Phwooooar to Jimmy. Crikey... uhm... what is it about him? Those lips, maybe? And the whole, well, manliness of him.

KeVin's comment made me laugh:-)

But I have to say oh YEAH. That top lip...:-)

Some guys seem to have it all and I should know :) Seriously, the playing field is never level and some a born with more gifts than others. Coming from Haiti and breaking into the mainstream requires more than good looks and intelligence; it requires a good six...pack.

KeVin, LOL! You should take more of an interest, you know, apart from comparing 'dimensions' with akalol! This constitutes important research for those romances you're going to write, y'hear me? Note the points of focus, the female reaction, the masculine recoil...

(And I see you're still doing that not-sleeping thing.)

JJ, those lips are just - luscious. And the rest... **sigh.**

(Sorry KeVin. Just control your disgust, okay?)

Motherx, yes, he's in Phat Girlz which I haven't seen, never intended to see, but now wouldn't miss for the world.

Lane, oh YEAH!

akalol, what's with you Trini men?! Too much modesty is not one of your shortcomings, is it! :) You're right, the field is never level and life is never fair. A good six...pack? LMAO!

Liane Spicer said...

Btw, akalol, I know a guy with an eight pack. Seriously! (Get your mind out of the gutter...)

So "The Haitian" from Heroes really is a Haitian! There's definitely something about him, and the washboard abs are just adding to that.

Btw, Liane - thanks, I got that book - I've been meaning to write to you about it but I've been a bit overwhelmed by stuff...

Wasn't there a movie called Six is Enough or was it Eight is Enough :)

Liane Spicer said...

I think it was Eight. That's certainly enough.

Liane Spicer said...

PJ, just wondered about the book, the mail being what it is. (Can certainly relate to the overwhelmed state; seems I've been thrashing around there for ages.)

He is gorgeous. Why have I never noticed him before?

Un Peu Loufoque said...

Oh lordy don't he make your knees melt! Well he does mine anyway!

He looks other worldly in that head shot.

BTW -- I have finally updated my blog, but I did put a link in the comments for you on that state capital post.

Liane Spicer said...

Debs, he is, isn't he? I must have seen him in Tears of the Sun but I don't remember. I'll have to watch it again.

Un Peu Loufoque, hello there! Definitely detect a weakening of the knees over here!

Kim, I like 'otherworldly'. I think that's what I was trying to express with 'lit-from-within eyes'. There's an essence about him that's hard to define. Thanks for the link!

Ladies, the "lit from within" in that head shot looks like a flash head aimed into a 48-inch white umbrella mounted directly behind and above the camera. I'm guessing the fill lights are flash heads pointing directly away from him & being bounced off floor-to-ceiling white panels. (Though they could be doing that with just bounce panels.) The hair light is either low-output or diffused so it gives him dimension without turning his bald pate into a spotlight.

Soooo...
What's happening around Trinidad, Liane?

kim said...

Kevin -- and Santa? The Easter Bunny? ...not Leprechauns, right?

Liane Spicer said...

Kevin, ROTFLMAO! After a headachy day that laugh felt good!

Actually, I almost wrote in my comment to Kim that the lit-from-within thing could possibly be attributed to a photographer's skill. But who wants to hear that? It's like pointing out the silicone, botox, laser treatments, nips and tucks, surgically engineered trout-pouts, makeup wizardry, airbrushing and Photoshopping when I see you guys drooling over Angelina Jolie, Pamela Anderson and their ilk. A little creative lighting is nothing by comparison.

I've scheduled a post for tomorrow in which there's nary a mention of hunks with otherworldly, lit-from-within whatevers. That should do ya.

Kim, we don't mess with these men's fantasies, so what do they have against ours? Sheesh! (And you know I believe in leprechauns. That green pee you found is incontrovertible proof!)

kim said...

incontrovertible!
